What is Kissmefortytimes?
Kissmefortytimes is an international photography competition for wedding and portrait photographers. It is built around three principles: equity (no pay-to-win), clarity (public scoring rules), and anonymity (jurors and photographers are never identified to each other).
How many credits do I get?
Your annual subscription includes 20 credits for the season. Each submitted image costs 1 credit. You can submit up to 5 images per session, across both Wedding and Portrait.
What happens to unused credits?
Regular credits expire at the end of the season. Bonus credits earned through Awards, Distinctions, and Selections are carried over to the following season, capped at 3.
How do bonus credits work?
KMFT Award: +2 bonus credits · KMFT Distinction: +1 · Every 2 KMFT Selections: +1. Bonus credits are capped at 3 per season and can only be used in the following season — never the one they were earned in.
How are images scored?
Each image is evaluated anonymously by a minimum of 3 independent jurors on Impact (0–100) and Intention (0–100). Your final score is the average across all jurors. Scores are locked at publication and cannot be appealed.
Can I submit the same image to multiple categories?
No. Each image can be submitted once, to a single category within a single universe.
Is retouching allowed?
Classical retouching is permitted: colour grading, contrast, sharpening, cropping, cloning for minor distractions, exposure and light adjustments. Heavy compositing, sky replacement, and AI-generated or AI-altered content forming the subject are not permitted.
How does the ranking work?
KMFT Award: 110 pts · KMFT Distinction: 60 pts · KMFT Selection: 30 pts. A regularity bonus is added for photographers who submit across multiple sessions. Wedding and Portrait rankings are always separate.
When are results published?
Results are published within a few weeks after each session closes. The exact date is shown on the Season Calendar. You'll receive an email when your results are available.
Can I get a refund?
Subscriptions are non-refundable once the season has started. If you have not yet submitted any images, contact us at hello@kissmefortytimes.com and we'll review your case.
